Summary

A three by three presentation grid of the same cinema platform header, showing how one full width wordmark hosts a rotating film still in the gap punched out of it.

Visual description

Nine identical page crops float on a pure black field with even gutters. Each crop is a white browser page whose top edge carries tiny condensed nav items, a menu label, a city selector and search and log in links at the right. Under that the wordmark runs edge to edge in very heavy condensed black caps: "THE ONES WE" then a solid black bar then "LOVE", so the bar sits exactly where the missing letters would be. Below each wordmark a wide landscape film still fills the width with the film title reversed in white condensed caps centered on it, a small vote count chip at the top center, a small white ticket button beneath the title, and screening date, time and venue in tiny type in the lower corners. The nine stills give the grid its only color: a red lit interior, a snowbound road, an orange desert silhouette, a desert standoff, a crowd shot, a dark close up, a black and white courtroom, a green field, and a red curtained stage.

Key takeaway

Redacting part of the wordmark creates a fixed slot that any image can fill, so the logo itself becomes the changing element of the site rather than a static fixture. Presenting nine states on one black board proves the system faster than any single screen would.

Reuse notes

Use when a brand needs an identity that varies with programming, such as cinemas, festivals and repertory listings. Requires a very heavy condensed face where a solid bar reads as a letterform substitute. The device is fragile in small placements where the bar just looks like a printing error.
