ASCII Image Loader

Summary

A creative image loader effect that transitions product photos from sparse ASCII character noise into full photographs, with an animated character-art reveal on a dark background.

Visual description

A near-black canvas holds a sparse scatter of light grey monospaced characters such as dots, colons, plus signs, numerals, hash marks and the letter x. The characters cluster more densely in the left third and thin out to almost nothing on the right, hinting at a form that is only beginning to resolve. There is no other interface or color, only fine type on dark.

Key takeaway

Use character density as a loading state, so a few glyphs thicken into the final image. The sparse monospaced field gives a clear before frame with almost no assets.
