Summary
A navigation microinteraction where a hand-drawn SVG ellipse animates around the active menu item as the user moves between links, creating a sketchy highlight effect.
Visual description
A horizontal navigation menu on a light background displays five text links aligned center: Home, About, Services, Portfolio, and Contact. The active Contact link is enclosed by a hand-drawn yellow ellipse with sketchy, organic stroke quality. A cursor pointer appears beside the highlight.
Key takeaway
Replacing geometric selection shapes with a hand-drawn sketchy outline injects personality and human warmth into otherwise standard navigation.
Reuse notes
Reach for this as a motion still reference. Pairs with minimal directions. Original by Raul.
