Summary

Printed packing tape carrying the Indigo wordmark in black over a run of changing solid colour blocks, photographed mid-application on a plain kraft mailer.

Visual description

A corrugated kraft box sits on a warm off-white surface, shot close and from a high diagonal so one corner fills the frame. A strip of tape crosses the box lid, folds down the front face and continues onto the table toward the bottom left corner. The tape is divided into flat colour segments of roughly equal length: pale pink, deep maroon, bright orange, light grey and a sliver of yellow, with a wedge of green at the top right edge. The word Indigo repeats along the tape in a heavy black grotesque with the exclamation-mark I, sized to nearly fill the tape width, and the repeat is not aligned to the colour breaks, so words are cut across two colours. Print sits with a slight matte roughness on the paper tape. Lighting is soft with a single shadow to the right, and there is no other graphic on the box.

Key takeaway

Letting the colour segments and the wordmark repeat run on different rhythms means every cut length of tape looks different while staying obviously the same asset. Black type over a shifting ground keeps one ink doing all the legibility work.

Reuse notes

A high-value, low-cost touchpoint for direct-to-consumer packaging where the box itself stays unprinted kraft. Works only if the palette is broad enough that random segment pairs still look intentional. Check the darkest colour in the run for black type contrast; the maroon block here is the weakest read.
